Aaniin Community Centre and Library

The LEED® Gold pursing Aaniin Community Centre and Library features multi-use, fitness, gymnasium, and aquatic areas.  The name “Aaniin” means hello or welcome in Ojibway, and was chosen as the facility was designed to be a welcoming gathering space for the citizens of Markham.  Building includes: Swimming pools, library, fitness area, sports centre / gymnasium, indoor running track, creative studios, makerspaces, teaching kitchen, indoor playground, sensory room, community rooms, etc.

HVAC systems installed include a hot water heating plant, domestic hot water plant and variable volume rooftop units.  The building has full DDC control down to and including the individual spaces.

·         LEED® Fundamental (EAp1) and Enhanced (EAc3) commissioning

·         Contract document review

·         Commissioning coordination

·         Installation review from a commissioning prospective

·         Witnessing static and dynamic contractor tests

·         Verification of DDC system and BAS

·         100% performance testing of HVAC systems

·         Co-ordination of mechanical and electrical equipment and systems training

·         Development of LEED® required re-commissioning manual

·         Seasonal performance testing of HVAC systems.
