Aaniin Community Centre and Library Praised in Toronto Star

Earlier this week the Toronto Star published an article featuring Markham's Aaniin Community Centre, hailing it as a real gem for the community of Markham.  While Markham perhaps has a reputation for being somewhat disjointed is the community sense, the Aaniin Community Centre and Library aims to make itself a place for community connection.  Combining both athletic spaces with a library and casual public gathering spaces provides an environment of inclusivity, that doesn't limit one depending on their preferences, their age, or their social status.  But the space also has to be inviting to spend time in, and Aaniin certainly is inviting.  With lots of natural light and the added warmth the usage of wood throughout provides, it's inviting whether you are swimming in the pool or reading a book in the library.  Not surprising the Star article says it's the most used building in Markham!

CFMS was pleased to provide commissioning for this community gem!
