Canoe Landing Schools Open Today

Today is the first day back to school after the holidays for many students across the GTA, but it's a special one at City Place Canoe Landing, as two long anticipated schools are opening for their first day of school.  The schools are part of a larger project that includes a recreation centre and childcare - all much needed in this densely populated pocket of downtown Toronto.  Mayor John Tory was there for the opening.  You can read more about it in the Daily Hive.

Formerly known as Block 31 as part of the Railway Lands redevopment, ZAS architects designed the facility with community and sustainability in mind.  Features such as an active green roof (including a basketball court, jogging track and gardens) and photo-voltaic panels, to generate 10% renewable energy to meet the highest level of the City of Toronto Green Standards.

CFMS is pleased to be part of the team, providing commissioning for this welcome addition to City Place.
