Community Centre Projects to Look Forward to

While in Ontario we might be in lockdown for the foreseeable future, it’s important to look to good things that will lie ahead.  Promise lies in the number of Recreation Facilities that CFMS has added to our portfolio, reminding us that the current way of life won’t be forever, and there will come a time when we will get back to activities with our communities in the future.

In North America, community centres were an important part of the development of settlements.  Usually school houses or churches were used as gathering spaces, to help raise community spirit by having meetings and organizing social events.  Naturally, as communities grew, so did the need for spaces dedicated to community centres exclusively.  Providing education and recreation helped newcomers adapt to the new life they had chosen, something that hasn’t changed today.  Community centres are an integral part to our cities and towns, allowing for all members of all ages to come together in an inclusive space, while taking care of our physical and mental well being.

Among the exciting projects that are ramping up or recently awarded are:

Especially exciting is the pursuit of sustainable certifications, including LEED, Zero Carbon Building Standard, TO Net Zero!   CFMS is pleased to be part of the team for these projects providing commissioning to help ensure costs and schedules stay on track, and that sustainability goals are achieved.
