NE Scarborough CC + Child Care Centre included in MarS's Top 10 Toronto Green Buildings to be Excited About
Included in a noteworthy list from MaRS of top 10 Toronto green buildings to be excited about is the North East Scarborough Community Centre and Child Care Centre, an exciting project CFMS is proud to be providing commisisoning for. Located just south of the Toronto Zoo and Rouge National Park in Joyce Trimmer Park, it will be a welcome addition to a diverse community.
The Community Recreation Centre will include the following components:
- Gymnasium to accommodate an indoor cricket and running track
- Multi-purpose space, teaching kitchen, fitness/dance studios
- 25-metre indoor lap pool and leisure pool with change rooms
- Public/Administrative Support Space
The Child Care Centre will include the following components:
- 5 playrooms (1 infant Playroom/Sleep Room, 2 Toddler, 2 Preschool)
- Children support space
- Administrative support space
- 3 separate playgrounds that are designed to meet program requirements for infant, toddler, and preschool outdoor play
Designed by Perkins + Will, it's on track to achieve CaGBC Zero Carbon and Net Zero Energy - no wonder it's on the top 10 green buildings to be excited about from MaRS!
