Earth Day 2020

Back in 2013 we shared a list of LEED projects we were part of, in honour of Earth Day. Why aim for LEED certification?

” Since its introduction, LEED has helped tens of thousands of owners and developers create high-performing, resilient buildings that reduce carbon emissions, save water, conserve energy and reduce waste. LEED also improves quality of life by delivering buildings that offer occupants the optimal conditions for health, comfort and productivity. ” Says the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) website.

We are pleased to look at our LEED project list 7 years later, and see how it’s grown. LEED isn’t the only environmental option however, we’ve also worked on Net Zero and Toronto Green Standards projects, among others. It seems rare these days that there is not some kind of environmental goal associated with a project – great evidence that the architecture and construction industries are taking climate change seriously.

CFMS has been providing commissioning since 1992, and have been involved with LEED projects since 2007, when the first ones started to trickle across our desks. Here’s a look at how many we’ve done since then:
