Welcome to 2019! It’s hard to believe 2018 is over. We had a few exciting projects wrap up (well, at least in the sense that they became occupied, as our commissioning process generally takes us through the first year of occupancy), such as the new Student Centre at York University, and the Odeyto Indigenous Centre at Seneca College. We had some exciting new projects added to our list, such as the Canadian Canoe Museum located in Peterborough, and the new Thunder Bay Art Gallery
2019 looks to be an exciting year for CFMS, as the Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital will be picking up speed for us! Due to open in 2020, this will be the first hospital located in the city of Vaughan (another sure sign of the rapid growth of Vaughan in recent years, as we’ve also been busy with two large projects in Vaughan Metropolitan Centre). This hospital is following in the footsteps of Humber River Hospital, which currently holds the title of North America’s most digital hospital. CFMS Vice President is a veteran when it comes to hospital commissioning, having worked on numerous hospital projects, such as Humber River Hospital, and currently is our Principal in Charge for Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital. Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital will be the first hospital in Canada to feature fully integrated “smart” technology systems and medical devices that can speak directly to one another to maximize information exchange.
We are also looking forward to our continued work on other existing projects, providing commissioning for numerous primary, secondary and post-secondary schools, as well as community centres, libraries, transporation hubs, government buildings, condos and offices. CFMS enjoys the variety of projects we work on, and the variety of people we get to work with in the process. The new year also begins a new round of opportunities to respond to, so who knows what interesting new projects we will be into by this time next year!
All the best to you for 2019! Hope there is a wonderful year ahead for you as well!
