Happy 150th Canada!

Canada Day this year is a big one – celebrating 150 years!  CFMS and all our staff are proud to be Canadian.  Some of us were born Canadians, and some of us moved here and chose to be Canadians, such as our founder Mel James.  We all appreciate the natural beauty in our home all around us, and the freedom of our lives.

Our work has afforded us the opportunity to work with history, such as at the University of Toronto’s School of Graduate Studies, which was once the home to Sir John A. MacDonald; and our work has afforded us the opportunity to work towards a sustainable future for Canada, having completed over 100 LEED / LEED shadow projects, and helped countless other buildings work toward efficiency.

Our company non-work events have ranged from picnics in a range of beautiful parks, dancing in historic sites such as The Old Mill and Eaton Hall, to tree top trekking and zip-lining through our wonderful forest canopy, and cross-country skiing winter wonderlands.  We’ve contributed to making where we live better for the future through activities such as participating in Women Build for Habitat for Humanity, and tree planting through The Living City and Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA).

Canada Day always feels like the celebratory start to summer, and this year it would be hard not to catch the excitement that has been building.  We hope you all enjoy the weekend, and have a chance to celebrate in whatever way is meaningful to you, Canada’s 150th!
