Due to open this year in 2025, the East Gwillimbury Health and Active Living Plaza will be a welcome addition to the Queensville area, offering the town’s first aquatics centre, a new library, program spaces with teaching kitchen, gymnasium and indoor boardwalk. It’s been a long road to get to the much-anticipated opening, having first been brought forward in 2015. The scope underwent changes before breaking ground in 2022. The design includes Net Zero and East Gwillimbury’s ‘Thinking Green’ standards.
“The vision for the Health and Active Living Plaza was very much to be not just a community centre, but a centre of the community,” Aaron Karmazyn, the town’s general manager of park recreation and culture, said.
We are proud to be providing the commissioning for this exciting project, designed by MJM Architects.
