Getting to Know the CFMS Team - Kristine Quan

Tell us about your role:

Currently I manage both the Administrative side of CFMS as well as the Marketing.  Marketing is where I get to use more of my creative side, and the Administrative side keeps me busy with the small but important details to keep a company like ours running.  I am thankful for my assistant, because it can be challenging switching hats some days!

What is a typical work day like for you?

As mentioned above, a lot of switching hats is involved.  I may spend so many hours working on the website, then get pulled into assisting putting a proposal together, and then do a bank reconciliation.  While I have typical tasks, I am not sure any day is typical - it all depends on what crops up!

What challenges do you most enjoy in your role?

I enjoy the challenge in having a broad portfolio of responsibilities.  Feeling organized and that I have been on top of things even without a typical work day is very rewarding to me.  In my time in CFMS I have been involved in all roles, and obviously it has been challenging at times to learn new things - but I am so thankful for the opportunities I have had to learn new things and grow into my current position.

How do you unwind at the end of the day/what’s your guilty pleasure?

I am not sure 'unwind' is the best term for me, as I lead a very busy life! But I enjoy time with my boys and dogs, and my friends and family most of all, whatever the activity.  I do enjoy adventure and trying new things though - which is a bit 'unwinding' for me, as that occupies my brain in a different way!  And on the guilty side - definately travel, a good meal, and a good wine - preferrably all three of them together, with my boys, dogs, friends and/or family!
