Farewell to Balaratnam (Maha) Mahadeva

For those of you who have had the pleasure of working with Maha over the course of his career, you know what a great guy he is.  Before moving to Canada, Maha worked and trained in Sri Lanka, Japan and Singapore.  In Canada, he was the building operations manager of MetroCentre, and had a major role in it becoming the first LEED (Silver) EB multi-tenant project building awarded in Canada, as well as BOMA Building of the Year, and Go Green Plus award.  He’s worked with many people over the course of his career, and I don’t think there is a person out there who wouldn’t think he’s one of the nicest, most thorough, and committed people you could have on any project.  We were lucky to have him join us at CFMS in 2009, working as a contractor for us.  In that time, he’s been involved in some of our biggest projects, and the caliber of his work has consistently been highly regarded by our clients.

Unfortunately for us (but fortunately for him and his family), he’s decided it’s time for him to wind down.  Having moved out of the GTA this past year, and facing longer commute times, making the trek to our GTA projects became less appealing.  We can hardly blame someone with such a long and successful career for wanting to enjoy their golden years in the company of their family.

We have enjoyed having Maha as part of our team.  His presence has always added a positive spin to any project, or CFMS social event he has been a part of.  We appreciate the wealth of knowledge he has passed along to us over these past nine years.

CFMS extends our sincerest gratitude for his service, along with our best wishes for the future.
